Voidness / Form

This astonishing Chakra, essential to the practice of any Tantra, is the expression and the witness of the unity of the different components of an individual. For this reason it often carries the name of conscience. In the best of cases, it allows us to enter in relation with other forms of unity present in the universe.

Although historically we have attempted to identify this chakra with the subtlest known elements at a given moment (mercury, alcohol, ether, etc.), conscience is not reducible to any known material element.

The conscience, being evenly distributed all over the body as it is in the universe, cannot be associated with any specific organ. It is often represented as the shape of an appendix at the summit of the skull, but this is a graphic convention without pretension of objectivity. One can however approach the realities of this world through the sense of touch.

A very sharp spiritual perception in this world of apprehension can sometimes give a certain dizziness and bring one to lose the consciousness of the essential role of each and every being. A dissolving sense of unity, totally situated in the mental realm, quickly becomes a source of anxiety. One can easily better such panic situations by bringing back the conscience in the body, thanks to various physical exercises of which martial arts are an important part.
