The tantric path
Tantra consists of a recognition of the universe, its magic and its powers in the practitioner's body. This implies a reciprocity where the tantrika will soon recognize its own incarnation in the whole of its environment. This process can sometimes induce a fusion between one and the universe. Such a unique experience is often designated by the name of "illumination." To approach this "state of consciousness" Tantra uses each and every element that is part of the human evolution. This openness obviously includes sensuality but doesn't limit itself to it nor to any other.
All methods which recognize the senses as a valuable means to embody spirit and spirituality and as a possible way to make sacred the sensual experience, transcend the gap between spirit and matter. In this way, it is all part of the huge tantrik family. One can usually read the set of values of a tantrik teaching in the mandala of this specific practice.
